By now, if you are currently enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan, you would have received your Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) from your Medicare Advantage Provider. Although your inclination may be to toss it in the junk mail pile, this would not be your best move.
Every year, from October 15 through December 7, you have the ability to change your Medicare plan options. Your ANOC will let you know whether or not there are any changes to physician, hospital or lab networks, as well as changes in the amount of your copays, co-insurance, maximum out of pocket dollars and even your gym plan if you have one. Your plan may now offer some vision or dental coverage. You receive this Annual Notice of Change prior to October 15th, so you can evaluate the changes and decide whether or not the plan is still the right one for you. If you think it’s not, or you wish to check out other plans, you have that opportunity to change during the Open Enrollment Period.
So, fish that envelope out of the trash or the junk pile and review it. Except in certain circumstances like a move, you only have one opportunity a year to change your coverage. If you’d like our help deciphering your ANOC and you live in Arizona, please contact us at 520-904-5733 or 520-820-8639.
